Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP) is a student chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP), an organization of 20,000 physicians across the country who advocate for universal, comprehensive single-payer health insurance.

We believe that access to high-quality health care is a right of all people and should be provided equitably as a public good rather than bought and sold as a commodity.

We support the passage of HR676: The Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act.

Case’s SNaHP Chapter was started in January of 2015. We currently have 130 members. Like our national Facebook page to keep up-to-date on our work!

Our Chapter Leaders

School of Medicine Chapter Leader: Trent Chiang

Political Advocacy Leader: Ben Parker-Goos

School of Nursing Liaison: Nirmala Lekhak

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Steven Nissen, Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic

On 10/1/2015, Case Western joined 33 other medical schools across the country in a Medicare-for-All National Day of Action to call for universal, single payer health care in the United States. We were covered locally in The Cleveland Scene , The Observer, and on America's Workforce Radio, and the national movement was covered in over 80 publications (including the front page of Medscape!).
