Ophthalmology Interest Group
About the OIG
The Ophthalmology interest group exists to explore medical student interests in the specialty of Ophthalmology. This includes activites such as setting up shadowing, research, and clinical experiences. As well as, staffing the Student-Run Vision clinic.
Free Vision Clinic
The Free Vision Clinic was originally established to serve as a screening clinic for the Cleveland area. Operating out of the Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland one Saturday of every month in coordination with the Student-Run Free Clinic. Case Western undergraduates, medical students, residents and physicians volunteer there time to see vision referral patients during the morning hours.
Volunteers are welcome any year and on any track within the medical school. No experience is necessary. Short one-hour training sessions are conducted during the spring and fall. Following completion of the training and orientation you are eligible to volunteer on any clinic day after that without the need to be retrained. If you are interested in volunteering in the Free Vision Clinic contact Daniel Petkovsek M2.
